The Post Box

This shot was taken just up the street from our place. Here I've tried turn what was an ordinary photo into one that is moody and interesting. Have I succeeded? If nothing else I've learnt some cool new things in photoshop. The inspiration for this comes from here.

More inspiration

I just did a long comment and then lost it with an error in the submit!
Anyway, it has a bit of blur feel to me … maybe suggesting movement or speed. Moody? Hmmm. Not sure.
Try some more and we’ll see what happens.

There was a photoshop filter called "gaussian blur" applied. I've just found a definition of it as:

"An image-softening effect utilizing a bell shaped Gaussian distribution to apply the softening effect. A "Gaussian" curve (a/k/a "bell curve") is a bell-shaped curve showing a distribution of probability associated with different values of a variate."

Anyway basically I just followed the tutorial in the link. I'm not particularly happy with the result but I've learnt a couple of things. Thanks for the feedback.
